Fascias, Soffits and Guttering
Fascias, soffits and guttering are all essential components of a roof that protect your home and add to its appearance. Collectively, these three elements make up what’s known as the roofline. In other words, where the roof meets the exterior walls. They act as the first line of defence against the elements, forming a protective barrier that ensures your property remains weatherproof.
Fascia and soffit work together to protect the roof’s rafters from moisture and weather. They also create a seal between the inside of your home and the outside elements. This helps prevent wood rot, mould and condensation damage. You can install vent systems in your fascia and soffit to allow hot air to escape and be replaced with cooler air.
Roofline Services
Fascia
A long, thin board that runs along the lower edge of the roof, covering the edges and supporting the gutter system. Fascia is usually made of wood, but uPVC is a durable, maintenance-free alternative.
Soffit
A flat panel that’s fixed underneath the fascia boards and covers the roof trusses. Soffits are typically made of wood, vinyl, or aluminum and are designed to blend in with the exterior of the home.
Guttering
A system that collects rainwater and diverts it away from your home. Gutters are installed with “falls” to ensure that water doesn’t pool and overflow.
